Case Study

Duke Primary Care Croasdaile

01.

The Issue

The North Durham area had suffered a decade of decline and it seemed little could be done to turn things around. As a result, Duke University Health System (“DUHS”) was left in aging facilities with substantial maintenance and poor operational flow.

02.

The Solution

In an effort to improve patient experience, Davis Moore worked with DUHS to renovate an obsolete shopping center into a state-of-the-art healthcare facility. Making use of an existing building and parking field dramatically reduced costs even after all new building systems were installed, and allowed DUHS to stick to a strict budget. The new location provided DUHS with prominent signage and accessibility for its patients.

03.

The Benefit

DUHS was able to vacate its outdated facilities, and cost-effectively relocate into a first-class facility representative of Duke Health. North Durham has since attracted remarkable public and private investment following Duke’s dramatic renovation of the retail space.
